The upgraded optics of the FE 16-35mm F/2.8 GM II lens are designed to provide even better performance and image quality than its prime counterparts. The continuous brightness of the F/2.8 aperture helps users capture images with a low depth of field and dim lighting conditions. The two additional ED elements and one super ED deliver enhanced color fidelity and clarity. They also suppress various types of irregularities, such as color fringing and chromatic distortion. The five aspherical elements, which include three XA, minimize the effects of distortion and spherical aberrations. They also reduce the onion ring bokeh.

Faster AF and Floating Focus Mechanism
