The ZEISS Batis 85mm f1.8 is a portrait-length, short-telephoto lens that’s ideal for shooting with Sony E-series mirrorless cameras. It features a fast maximum aperture and a Sonnar-type design that eliminates color fringing and other irregularities. The ZEISS Floating Elements system is utilized for consistent focus performance throughout the range. In addition, an improved ZEISS T* coating is also used to reduce ghosting and flare while working in low-light conditions. The Batis-series line of mirrorless cameras is characterized by their use of an OLED display in the lens barrel, which provides helpful information about the focusing distance and depth of field. As an autofocus lens, it utilizes linear motors for smooth and quiet operation in low-light conditions. This lens features an optical image stabilization feature that helps minimize the effects of shake on the camera when shooting at slow shutter speeds.
