Dual Pixel CMOS AF

For video recording, the Movie Servo AF mode ensures smooth and natural focus transitions between different subjects or distances within the scene. It allows customization of tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and prioritization of Face or Eye Tracking. The Touch AF system facilitates intuitive rack focus by simply touching elements on the touchscreen. Moreover, subject tracking in videos is enhanced by the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system’s ability to recognize and maintain focus in changing or cluttered environments. With sensitivity down to EV -5, the focus system excels in low-light conditions, ensuring accurate AF performance.

UHD 4K Video Recording

Tailored for multimedia creators, the EOS RP offers UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution recording at up to 23.98 fps with a bitrate of 120 Mb/s, alongside Full HD 1080p and HD 720p at 60 fps for slow-motion playback. In-camera 4K video features 4:2:0 sampling and 8-bit color depth, with the option for 4:2:2 8-bit output when using an external recorder.

Audio can be captured using the built-in stereo microphone or an external microphone via the 3.5mm mic jack.

Furthermore, 5-axis Dual Sensing IS can electronically minimize camera shake during video recording, resulting in sharper, smoother footage.
