The dual internal focusing system of the 90-280mm lens is designed to produce accurate and quick focusing performance. It utilizes two separate elements for smooth and quiet focusing. In addition, this mechanism pairs well with the lens’ internal zoom to keep the overall length.

The lens is regarded as an apochromat due to its seven anomalous dispersion elements. These help minimize chromatic aberrations in the zoom range and eliminate false colors and distortions.

The linear positioning of the stepping motor ensures smooth and silent operation for focusing at distances ranging from 2 to 4.6 at the 90mm and 280mm focal lengths.

The dual internal focusing mechanism of the 90-280mm lens utilizes two separate elements for producing quiet and accurate focusing. It works well with the lens’ internal Zoom to ensure that the front 82mm filter ring doesn’t rotate.

The rear and front surfaces of the lens have been treated with a water-repellent coating to prevent dirt and moisture from entering it. Its weather-sealed design helps minimize the effects of dust and moisture. The included hood also guards against stray light and prevents flare-ups and ghosting.
