Leica – M11-P Safari Rangefinder Camera

Since the inception of the M-series, Leica cameras have been used by photographers to capture some of the most iconic images in history. The latest model in this line, the M11-P, takes the classic design and modern tech of the M11 and makes it even better. It also comes with a Content Authenticity Initiative feature that aims to bring authenticity to digital storytelling. The M11-P Safari is a functional and stylish camera that’s part of the esteemed line of Safari cameras made by Leica. Its sleek and stylish olive-green color scheme is complemented by silver accents and a subtle silver screw that’s not the red dot logo of the company. Its top plate features a “Leica” script and a German inscription that says “Leica camera Wetzlar Germany.” Since the company started making “P” models of its cameras, it has been known that these are designed to make them more suited for professionals. The new M11-P takes this tradition a step further by not using the red dot logo. It also features a sleek and modern design, and it comes with a variety of additional features. Leica – M11-P Safari Rangefinder Camera Features:
The M11-P is the first camera in the world to feature the CAI technology. This is a collaboration between Adobe and a number of other organizations, such as The New York Times and Leica, to develop a standard for the attribution of digital content. The M11-P is the first camera to feature Content Credentials, which allows users to verify the authenticity of an image.
This technology works by encrypting the metadata at the capture stage, and it can be appended or independently verified using compatible software such as Photoshop. The goal of this is to give viewers a more accurate and confidence in the images that they’re looking at. The 60MP BSI-equipped M11-P features the same high-resolution CMOS sensor that was used in the M11 and is ideal for capturing detailed images. Its faster readout speeds and better noise performance make it ideal for capturing architectural and landscape subjects.
Its physical design is also enhanced by an ultra-thin dual-layer glass filter that’s designed to absorb IR and UV light for enhanced clarity. Besides having the 60MP sensor and the BSI design, the M11-P also features Triple Resolution. This technology allows users to take advantage of the various features of the camera. Through its unique pixel binning technology, users can choose between 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP outputs, and each of these will utilize the full sensor area for rich color and detailed images.
Instead of cropping, the M11-P uses pixel binning technology to improve the image quality. Its lower resolution allows it to achieve a better dynamic range and lower noise levels. The new M11-P features the Maestro III processor, which is designed to help boost the camera’s Triple Resolution Technology and processing speed. It also enables users to shoot at up to 4.5 frames per second. Although it’s still a camera that focuses on manual operation, the M11P has plenty of new features that make it the most modern of its kind. One of these is an electronic shutter function, which enables users to shoot at a fast 1/16,000 sec. This feature is useful when working with fast f/0.95 lenses.
The M11P also features a mechanical shutter that can speed up to 1/4000sec. It can also flash sync up to 1/180sec. Users can also simulate shooting with long focal lengths using two digital zoom steps. These allow them to crop their images at 1.3x and 1.8x, and these are reversible crops. The M11P features multi-field exposure metering, which is useful for reducing the need for users to manually meter their images. It can also be disabled to save time. Another feature that’s designed for reducing the noise levels is Long Exposure Noise Reduction.
The M11P is a timeless camera that’s designed to meet the needs of modern users. It features a sleek and minimalist design that’s based on the M3 from 1954. Its optical viewfinder is also equipped with a bright and large 0.73x magnification. The camera’s frame selection feature is also useful for displaying the scene with different focal lengths. It can be used with various models, such as 35mm, 135mm, and 28mm. The M11P’s rear 2.95-inch LCD screen is designed to provide clearer and more vivid images when used in sunny conditions.
It’s also equipped with a special coating that’s designed to enhance its scratch resistance. The camera’s menu has been redesigned to match the style of the SL and Q systems. This new layout makes it easier to navigate and change settings. The M11P’s built-in Live View stabilization helps minimize the appearance of shake on the rear LCD screen. This feature is also useful for reducing the need for manual focus. Although the M11P is similar to its predecessors, it has a variety of unique body features. One of these is its Safari edition, which features a brass top plate with a scratch-resistant matte finish and olive-green paint.
The camera is the first M model to not have a removable baseplate. Instead, it borrows the design of the Q and SL systems by using a BP-SCL7 battery inside its body. The camera’s lithium-ion battery is 64% more powerful than its predecessor’s. It can provide up to 700 shots per charge, although it’s capable of shooting at a maximum of 1700 photos per charge if used with the optical viewfinder. It also has a single SD memory card slot inside the battery compartment.
The M11P has a built-in 256GB internal memory card, which is more than enough to store photos and videos. It can be utilized alongside an SD card to create a dual card storage system for different file types. Its USB-C port is also useful for transferring files and charging the device. The M11P can be attached to an iPhone through the FOTOS Cable, a convenient attachment method that allows users to share and manage their photos using the app. It can also be wirelessly connected to an iOS device through the app. In addition, geotagging and the ability to apply ratings to photos can be enabled through the app.
