493 Point Hybrid AF System The Z 7’s 493 on sensor AF points allow it to capture 90% of the frame in both vertical and horizontal orientation. Its subjects are easily acquired by the movement of the sensor throughout the frame. The Z 7’s AF algorithm is optimized for its FX format sensor, which automatically switches between the contrast and focal plane phase detect AF settings to provide the best possible focus. Its light shielding pixels are also designed to ensure that the image is protected from harmful effects. The Z 7’s Auto Area AF is also designed to smoothen the movement of the sensor in both horizontal and vertical orientation. It can be used with the EVF or in Live View to shoot eye level with the LCD. When shooting portraits, the system will focus on the upper body to maintain a steady focus position. The Eye Detection AF is a powerful tool that can help you capture portraits that feature tracks and locks that focus on the subject’s eye. It can also be used with AF-S and AF-C modes to keep the subject’s eyes focused on the frame while they’re changing their pose. With its ability to recognize multiple people in the picture, it can help you choose which eye to focus on and which one to temporarily obstruct. Eye Detection AF can capture still images with the help of a cat or dog’s eye, and It can also detect the face of the animal in video.

It features a Zero crop factor and F Mount NIKKOR lenses for optimal performance. Its built in 4K and 1080p recording capabilities allow you to capture rich and detailed images. In addition, it features a dedicated focus button and dual 8MP stills. 8K Time Lapse Video, New N-Log with view assist. With 10 bit N-Log, you can capture exceptional details in your videos and then apply the 3D LUT from the image sensor to recreate the same color accuracy that you’re used to with your cameras. Four AF area modes for video, and features built in timecode that edits shots from multi camera shoots. The Z 7’s smooth AF system is ideal for video because it provides the fastest continuous shooting speed and most accurate AF. Its silent operation also eliminates the need for an external mic. When using the NIKKOR Z lenses, you can also touch to focus to create fast transitions between subjects.

The camera body comes with the NIKKOR Z 24-70 mm f/4 S Lens. It features a wide-angle to portrait length range and a constant f/4 maximum aperture, making it ideal for capturing images with great detail and accuracy. Its optical design features a unique aspherical element and a low-dispersion element, which help minimize the effects of light on various subjects.
