A single XA element is utilized in the optical design to achieve superior surface precision when controlling various spherical aberrations, such as astigmatism and field curvature. Two additional low dispersion elements, one of which is a Super ED, are also featured to help minimize the appearance of color fringing and chromatic aberrations. A Nano AR Coating is utilized to reduce the appearance of ghosting, flare, and surface reflections, enhancing color rendering and contrast in bright lighting conditions. The integrated focus mechanism and linear motor of the camera provide fast and quiet autofocus performance, and it makes it easier to use manual focus. The minimum focusing distance of the camera is 2.3′, which provides a maximum magnification of 0.25x for close-up shooting. Two dedicated focus hold buttons are located on the lens barrel. These allow users to quickly access the settings they need. A physical aperture ring can also be de-clicked to optimize video capture. The camera features a moisture-sealed and dust-resistant design that allows it to work in challenging conditions. Its rubber control rings are also ideal for handling cold temperatures. Its front element is made from a Fluorine-coated material that repels dirt and fingerprints.
