This telephoto zoom lens is designed for full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras, offering a modest f/5.6-8 maximum aperture range for a compact, lightweight build. It incorporates one Ultra Low Dispersion element to minimize chromatic aberrations, while an aspherical element controls distortion and enhances sharpness. Super Spectra Coating reduces flare and ghosting for improved contrast in strong lighting conditions. An Optical Image Stabilizer reduces camera shake by up to 5.5 stops, with up to 6 stops available when combined with Coordinated Optical Image Stabilizer and In-Body Image Stabilizer systems. The Nano USM system ensures quick, accurate, and silent focusing suitable for both photography and video, with full-time manual focus control. Close focusing is possible throughout the zoom range, with a maximum magnification of 0.41x at 400mm and a minimum focusing distance of 2.9′ at 200mm. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh, while a configurable Control Ring allows adjustment of exposure settings. The lens is compatible with optional Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x teleconverters to extend the focal length further.
