The ZEISS Loxia 21mm f/2.8 is a sleek prime lens that’s ideal for Sony’s E-mount cameras. It features a wide-angle lens with a convenient compact form factor. The lens is based on the Distagon optical design, which features a reduction in spherical and chromatic aberrations for enhanced clarity and color rendering. The ZEISS T* Anti-reflective coating has been added to the Loxia-series lenses to help minimize ghosting and flare. These are ideal for use in low-light conditions. Its manual focus and aperture ring make them particularly suitable for filmmaking. The Loxia lenses feature an all-metal barrel and a compact form factor. It also includes an engraved focus ring and depth of field scale for enhanced control. In addition, the lens body is equipped with a moisture-sealed and dust-proof design that can be used in challenging environments.

Zeiss – Loxia 2.8/21 E Mount Lens Features: 

A wide-angle prime is ideal for Sony E-mount cameras, but it can also be used with other APS-C devices. Its bright f/2.8 maximum aperture allows it to work in low-light conditions and is ideal for astrophotography. The advantage of this type of prime is its ability to provide high-quality image reproduction, especially with a Distagon optical design. A total of four anomalous dispersion elements are utilized to reduce the color fringing and distortion caused by spherical and distortion aberrations. One of these controls the distortion and provides better and more accurate rendering with the use of aspherical elements. To minimize reflections, the ZEISS anti-reflective coating is applied to each lens. The use of a manual focus system is also beneficial due to its ability to focus on the depth of field and the rotational angle of 90 degrees. It features a hard stop at both minimum and infinity focusing positions and has a built-in De-Click Tool that can automate the rotation of the ring for smooth and silent operation. The sturdy construction of the lens mount features internal seals to protect it from moisture and dust. It also has a blue sealing ring around the interface to prevent it from getting damaged. The electronic interface of the lens mounts allows users to send all of their lens Exif data to their camera. It can be programmed to automatically focus on the desired subject when the ring is turned.
