Overview

The versatile The X-F16-55mm F/2.8 R LM WR, is ideal for capturing images with a wide-angle to portrait-length range. It features a 24-84mm equivalent focal length. It is great for Fujifilm’s X-mount cameras, which feature APS-C sensors. It also has a bright f2.8 constant maximum lens with a wide-angle equivalent focal length, and is capable of handling challenging lighting conditions.

Optical Design

The three aspherical elements help minimize spherical aberrations and distortion in photos. They also improve the overall image quality and minimize noise. The three extra-low dispersion elements help minimize the effects of chromatic aberrations and color fringing in order to achieve high-quality images.

The lens’ optical design is composed of two types of low dispersion elements: an extra-low dispersion and aspherical. These elements help minimize the distortion and color fringing experienced during the zoom range. In addition, the lens’ surface reflections can be minimized through the use of a combination of nano-GI and HT-EB coatings.

The outer surface is also treated with a special Nano-GI coating to improve the overall performance of the lens. This coating changes the refraction between the air and the glass to suppress ghosting and flare.

Quiet Autofocus

The lens’ circular nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality, which can be used in shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.

The Twin Linear Motor autofocus system is also designed to deliver near-silent performance in low light conditions. It’s ideal for video applications that require a constant focus.

Weather Resistant Design

The lens body features a weather seal that’s designed to protect against moisture and dust. It can also be operated in freezing temperatures.
