On other DX-format cameras, such as the Z 50 or Z FC, it can stabilize using 2-axis VR. An innovative design feature eliminates the need for tension or torque adjustments by eliminating lens creep. The barrel stays in the same position regardless of the orientation of the lens.

Weather-sealed Construction & More 

Super telephoto lenses can overpower close-range shooting situations. The NIKKOR Z 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VR S doesn’t have that effect. Even when positioned directly in front of your subject, you can still create macro-style details using this lens. The entire lens barrel is weather-sealed and has a rubber gasket. Its front element is treated with a Fluorine coat, which repels dust, oil, and water droplets and makes cleaning easy. 

This lens is ideal for DX-format cameras such as Z 50 and Z fc. It features a 2-axis VR Autofocus system, which allows you to focus on the objects in your vision with incredible accuracy and smooth movement. Its dual STM stepping motors provide superb close focusing and edge-to-edge sharpness. It’s also compatible with 2x and 1.4x Z series teleconverters, which makes it easy to increase your reach to 800mm or 560mm with outstanding resolution and minimal weight.
